Toasty warm heat bags

Winter is slowly approaching here is Melbourne. I wouldn't say it's here completely just yet, as we are fortunately still being treated to gorgeous sunny days, with a lovely 17-18 degrees. The air is becoming cool,  mostly noticeable first thing in the morning & just as sun sets at night.

When weather is cool like this I start thinking comfort, piping cups of hot tea for breakfast & warm buttery toast and raspberry jam. Mmmmmm....

Two new heat bag designs inspired by warm comforts....tea and toast.

Toasty warm.

Warm up with a cuppa.

I love heat bags in winter, especially filled with organic dried lavender and rice. They stay so warm for so long. I pop them in my bed before I sleep, they take the chill off the bed and the lavender helps me sleep. I also pop them on feet which are always cold, I really mean it, they are always cold!!!! They are also perfect for aches and pains.

They are created in 2 sizes.
Small which are 19cmx13cm. This is my original size which were especially created for kids. A perfect size for little hands to handle. My kids adore them.
Large which are 27x19cm, twice the size and perfect for adults.

I still offer existing designs from last year, but I am well on my way to making some news one.

My very special weekend.

May is a very busy month for me.
Both my kids birthdays as well as mother's day.

Saturday my baby boy turned 4. I just can't believe it. When I was told to enjoy the moment as it flies, how true that advise was. Hudson is growing into such a kind little boy, definitely not a baby anymore. He is thoughtful, very sensitive, clever, and so warm and affectionate. He is just bliss in my eyes!

I have had a wonderful weekend, celebrating his milestone as well as mother's day on Sunday.

Here is is extremely happy...Finally a big boy BMX. It's red & has lightning MCQueen on it. Life couldn't have gotten much better here for him.

The big day was celebrated with a number 4 Spiderman birthday cake created by my mum.

The 4 of us after blowing out the candles.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Sunday I started a new family tradition.....Mother's Day Classic 2012.
The weather was wet, cold, miserable & rainy. However that didn't stop the absolute thrill of it. It was a gorgeous day filled with spirited people everywhere. Each person with a different story & reason for the walk. A wonderful environment of people coming together for a great cause.

Daniel and I at the car park, before the 4km journey began.

The kids ready to go.

A couple of minuets before we started out triumphant walk, Charlotte was getting a little impatient & restless waiting. She is a very impatient child so I always need to accommodate her quickly, before the carry on began. I pull her out of the bike for a quick stretch.
BAD MOVE!!!!!BAD MOVE!!!!!!!
This poppet wouldn't get back in the bike, & when she did she screeeeeeamed. So lucky me carried this lightweight...not...for 4kms. It was hell, she is very heavy! Regardless I didn't let it spoil my experience, & just soldiered on. Needless to say my back & arms were burning for some time, & Daniel had the joyous task of pushing the bikes together. I couldn't go to the gym today as I was a little sore from the experience.

Approaching the starting point.

My hero, very happy and proud of himself that he finished. Even happier when he got a medal. He has been wearing it non stop, & even made it part of his kinder uniform today.

Not only did she not walk, but fell asleep too! Life was not so tough for her yesterday!!

I loved the morning so much and I will definitely be back next year!

My kids Farm party

May is a busy month for me personally. Hudson turns 4 on Saturday 12th, and Charlotte turns 2 on the 21st. Then there is mother's day in between. As they are both my kids are still quite young, I am going to manage to squeeze in the 'joint' birthday party. The theme,

FARM PARTY

It's unisex, & what kid doesn't love some fun on the farm?
I am having their party at a kids farm here in Melbourne, where it's small quaint & very hands on. The rotunda has been booked, so has the tour of the farm. All the little kiddies invited will be able to get down & dirty with the farm folk. There will be some chicken feeding, milking of goats, a wander through the vegetable garden, some feeding of cows and sheep, and of course cuddling some guinea pigs.

Normally I am a control freak & love to design & draw all of their decorations. This year....no chance, instead I bought them all on Etsy at Stock Berry Studio, all via a PDF.

Here are my decorations. How awesome are they? Look at what I get, party hats, drink bottle labels, name cards for the table & party bags, flags, a bunting & it just goes on.
Here are the invitations I bought also from the same shop. So super cute!

I am an average cake baker, I would love to be great, I do however love the idea of a bit of cake decoration. I don't even know if I am good at it. I like this cake as it looks somewhat achievable. I won't be using that flat rolled icing, I will most likely colour some butter icing, & use food to create the decorations. I want to make the barn. it looks easy enough?? I am assuming its a square cake cut in the shape??? What a novice I am, am I getting in way over my head? Anyway stay posted for progress on that.

I love these milk bottle ideas, I wont be having milk, instead bottles of water, plastic too. I don't know about you, but I don't like the idea of running excitable kids carrying glass bottles....eeek!!

I love these lovely treats. They look like baked custard & chocolate of course. I wont be attempting either, but I am thinking of making something like it. Great inspiration only, maybe some biscuits & jelly??

I am not sure what these are but they are so damn adorable. They remind me of the snack size cheese you can buy in the waxy paper?

I am quite excited about the day, there will be a tonne of kids & lots of fun. The only thing at the moment I am concerned about is the unpredictable weather at this time of year. Fingers crossed there is no rain, cold I can cope with, but not rain.

Desperate for time to work

Its a rainy day here in Melbourne today & I just know the kids are going to be hanging off my leg.
How do I know? Because I have a lot of work to do. I am quite busy at the moment, trying to be organised & get on top of things. These things include work & home. Today I had to use the TV as a babysitter for a couple of hours, I was feeling quite desperate.

What better to watch than Toy Story, which has become quite popular in my house due to Charlotte. She has just discovered it, & Hudson has jumped on theToy Story band wagon.

Charlotte has taken to Jesse & Woody with a small obsession!! Lucky for me I bought the dolls ages ago, but Hudson never seemed fussed for them.

A few couch cushions to lay on, a blanket to keep warm, a drink bottle & some rice crackers & they were very happy & content.

Perfect...The're happy, I got some work done.
Thanks Toy Story xx
